We Believe Chapter 4

How is everyone doing in their reading?  Hopefully no one is having problems.  As a cradle Catholic everything I've read to this point has been a quick refresher course.  But I know not all of us participating are cradle Catholics.  Some are new and some are returning.  So if there is a point that you want or need to stop and investigate further, either as a group or as a side study.  Just say the word.

----Chapter 4----

I like Chapter 4.  Not just because it finishes up the quick look at the Bible.

There wasn't anything that really grabbed me until the bottom of page 43 and onto page 44.

God is not limited to space and time.

It is as simple as that.  Because He is not limited to space and time His words have meaning to us almost 2000 years after He inspired those who wrote the words down for Him.

There has been no other text that has been read by as many people.  Even people who are not Christians read the Bible.

And it is relevent.  It is as relevent to us today as it was to the people of the first centuries.

I also liked the way Fr. L. explained Sacred Tradition and Divine Revelation.

I agree with you Chucki.  Because of some gaps in my religious education, I did enjoy the section on who wrote the gospels.

The 'Questions for Discussion or Reflection" gave me much to think about.  If Jesus had come in this day and age, I could see all the internet hype with sightings, debunking and some anonymus person that was there giving the "I helped sneak a body out of a tomb" stories going on.
