Are you all still with me? I know the first parts of We Believe are very basic parts of what we as Catholics believe. Fr. L does get a bit deeper the further one goes in the book.
----Chapter 3----
As a cradle Catholic and a frequent church goer, Chapter 3 held no big surprises or insights for me. I take that back, I did finally get the Pharisees and the Sudducees straightened out in my mind.
Did anyone find anything significant to them in this chapter?
Do we have anyone who comes from a very different faith and needs more on Jesus' life, crucifixion and resurrection?
Oh, as someone with a past I will say I'm very glad for this bit on page 29:
God does not annihilate creatures when they misuse their freedom, ...
I realized the truth in this. How many humans would actually be on earth if God did annihilate his creatures when they sinned?

I hear these names thrown around all the time and Father L's descriptions did help. Political wrangling is nothing new. It helped me to see what each group expected from the Messiah and it had to happen as it did.
Otherwise, I think it is a very nice condensed view of Jesus' life.
