Did anyone else start yet?

I read through the first part of the lesson online today, and I am hoping to go through the list of readings later. I was just wondering if anyone else was starting!

My oldest has karate tonight so I will have a chance to read through the lesson tonight once I get the littles to bed.

I've printed the first lesson & plan to read through it once I get the kids fed.

There are six lessons in this unit.  Should we set a certain time for each lesson (ie two weeks per lesson with on-line discussions) or just let it flow as it will?  I've printed the lesson and will look at it more closely later, but there's certainly a lot of meat in it on first glance. smile

Yes.  I finished lesson 1 yesterday.  It's interesting.  I've never made the covenant connection before.

So, how do we do this?  Do we post our answers to the study questions?  Or, do we just post our thoughts and questions?

Denise

I think this sounds reasonable, although I must admit I've never really done a bible study before so I'm not sure -- do people just discuss the material, or are there quizzes, etc.?  Two weeks per unit sounds good, we are all busy and the lessons have a lot of content.

I've listened to the first two lessons in the audio course Signs of the Covenant and he gets into more detail about covenants. It is very interesting.

Seeing Scripture in light of Tradition and Church teaching is all new to me. It makes so much sense that the Bible needs to be interpreted within the context of the greater picture. I have often read passages that seem so taken out of context and to mean something completely different from what I understood them to mean. It is no wonder there are so many different Protestant denominations when everyone is interpreting the Bible to mean different things.

" The whole Bible can be outlined as a series of family-making covenants. "

This is fascinating. The Old Testament and the New Testament have always felt so disjointed to me. That one simple statement helps me see how it is all one continuous story.

I have more to say, but my toddler is not going to let me finish typing. I will have to come back later.

I'm feeling the same way!

I've just started the first lesson but I'm all for going through them at a 2 week pace.  They are deep lessons and I also have a toddler.  Today she's poured water all over herself, raided the snack cabinet, and emptied her dresser and she's just getting warmed up.

I will start reading the first lesson tonight! I was waiting until I saw that others were doing so as well! Plus, I just finished reading the book I have been working on! Two weeks sound about right to me. Maybe we can make a new post for each lesson. That way if someone is ahead or behind, we can still discuss the same thing!

I agree. Two weeks seems like a good amount of time. And a thread per lesson seems like a great way to organize the discussion.

Strangely, EWTN also has Dr. Hahn's vidieo series on Covenants scheduled.

I'm reading though I've not made it to the lessons yet.

It's a mind bender coming out of Sila Scriptura and Sola Fide, let me tell you.
