From the poll at TWTM it seems that the St. Paul studies were most voted for.  Logically the next step is to pick one of those six.

Please review the six available and vote on which one you would like to start with.

I vote to start from Genesis to Jesus. My CCD experience growing up was less than stellar and I'd like to learn everything over. The right way, ya know.

I don't know!

Genesis to Jesus because yeah, it's the beginning and coming out of Sola I need a brain cleanse.

Mary because as a new revert, she's where I struggle the most-not in acceptance but how to bring more of her into my life.

The Lamb's Supper because the Mass is so different than most Sunday services -it's so full of meaning and to know all of that is to be more of a part of it.

But I voted Genesis though I would be happy with any.

I voted the Mass- it seems to be the crux of our worship each week and I really would like to understand it better. Genesis to Jesus would be interesting from a Catholic perspective since I used MOH1 last year- it was really my first introduction to the Old Testament.

I voted the Mass also. Coming from a Protestant background, the Eucharist was what it all finally came down to when I was struggling with the direction our family was heading. The homily at the Mass of Corpus Christi had me vigorously shaking my head in agreement.

But I am perfectly happy to do the Genesis to Jesus study as well, or any of them for that matter.

Genesis to Jesus first, as a cradle Catholic raised in the 70's I haven't gotten nearly enough background in the Old Testament.

(I notice that most of these study topics sound a lot like Dr. Scott Hahn's book titles.)

Both the Genesis and the Mass courses use his books as supplemental material.

Is there something I need to purchase? I am so excited to be a part of this. We used to have adult ed at my church, but we got a new priest who doesn't do that!

BTW, I saw this author on EWTN. This book is supposed to be an overview of the Bible for Catholics so that we understand how it all fits together. It looks really good.  Walking With God: A Journey Through the Bible  http://www.amazon.com/Walking-God-Journey-through-Bible/dp/1934217891/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1309549903&sr=8-1 Sorry, I don't know how to post a link on here!

I voted for Genesis to Jesus.

I like the Mass study too, but with the new mass translation, it might be best wait... It's my understanding the new translation draws even more from Scripture and his study/book might need updating.  Any thoughts?

I voted for From Genesis to Jesus - I've done a lot of Bible study from a Protestant perspective and I would really like to get the Catholic view now!

My understanding of the new translation is that it doesn't change the Mass-- the Mass is the same as it has always been. It is just a more literal translation, and one that is closer to the original Latin.

One of the most quoted changes that I've heard is they changed the response "et cum spiritu tuo" from "and also with you" to "and with your spirit".

Lol, yeah I know the Mass itself isn't changing! I just wasn't sure about the context of the book. I read more about it and grabbed a copy of The Lamb's Supper at the library, and it doesn't seem like the new translation would affect the book. It might be a good one to do next! :)
